ABOUT US

Chairman - Sri Guru Granth Saibh Ji - Living Guru is the guiding force of Sewak and its affiliations.

Jagdi Jot, Living Guru, Sri Guru Granth Saibh Ji.

There is no chairman for Sewak. The Jagdi Jot, Living Guru, Sri Guru Granth Saibh Ji is our Guru / Teacher from where we get our inspiration and guidance. Sewak and its members work under the direction of the Guru Saibh Ji.

As such it tries to inculcate the Guru’s concept of Naam Japo, Kirt Karo and Vand Chako among the masses. It advocates Naam Bani naal piyar. Seva and Simran is the hall mark of its members.

SEWAK is an Ottawa based international not for profit organization that caters to help needed by fellow human beings. Although it has started with Ottawa in Ontario, Canada and the region of Punjab in India, its operations are not limited to only these areas. Sewak mission is to help mankind anywhere and everywhere on this globe. Its motto is ‘Service for All’.  It started its silent operations much earlier, although it was formally registered in 2022.

The name SEWAK itself talks volumes about the kind of Seva it’s engaged in. Primary focus is on health care and education but is not limited to these two and its wings expand to cover any and all humanitarian projects across the globe. The reason to focus on health care and education is very simple, if one has these two he can earn the rest.

SEWAK depicts a tree in the center, the tree was chosen as it represents a life of self-less giving, the tree gives its roots, its stem, bark, leaves, fruit, flowers and its wood, actually it gives itself up fully in selfless service to mankind. Such is the inspiration of the directors of SEWAK – offering ‘Service for All’ no strings attached, across the globe as depicted in the background of the logo. And in doing so the directors remain grounded like the roots of the tree, no matter how high the tree (organization) grows it will remain grounded like a tree with its roots deep under the earth that nurtures all life. The tree is as much above as it is beneath the ground, thus stable and balanced. It is what it is, no hidden agenda.

And the tree is guided by the red circle with the glow in its center, which is the guiding force of all life on earth. The directors remember that it is all because of ‘IT’ and nothing is of their doing, it helps them to remain grounded in service and while it expands its operations world-wide.

The philosophy of SEWAK is
well depicted in its logo.
