A not-for-profit mission from Ottawa, Canada —
empowering global Sikh leaders with connected ideas to drive growth and global good of needy Sikhs, grounded in the timeless spirit of selfless service.
Founded by the principles of Seva — service without expectations. Every act of compassion strengthens the world we share.
The highest calling is to serve without ego, without reward — simply because it is right. Every project we lead begins here.
Our mission extends beyond borders and beliefs. We serve humanity without discrimination — because compassion knows no boundary.
True solace comes from giving. We believe in sharing resources, knowledge, and time with those who need it most.
The philosophy of SEWAK is well depicted in its logo. SEWAK depicts a tree in the center, the tree was chosen as it represents a life of self-less giving, the tree gives its roots, its stem, bark, leaves, fruit, flowers and its wood, actually it gives itself up fully in selfless service to mankind. Such is the inspiration of the directors of SEWAK — offering 'Service for All', no strings attached, across the globe as depicted in the background of the logo.
Meet the Sewaks“ He who has no faith in himself, can never have faith in God. ”
"To provide for education and medical aid to all, wherever needed. If one has good health and education, one will be able to take care of himself and his loved ones."
SEWAK is an Ottawa-based international not-for-profit organization that caters to help needed by fellow human beings. Although it has started with Ottawa in Ontario, Canada and the region of Punjab in India, its operations are not limited to only these areas. Sewak's mission is to help mankind anywhere and everywhere on this globe. Its motto is 'Service for All'. It started its silent operations much earlier, although it was formally registered in 2022.
The name SEWAK itself talks volumes about the kind of Seva it's engaged in. Primary focus is on health care and education but is not limited to these two — its wings expand to cover any and all humanitarian projects across the globe. The reason to focus on health care and education is very simple: if one has these two, one can earn the rest.
There is no chairman for Sewak. The Jagdi Jot, Living Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is our Guru / Teacher — the source of inspiration and guidance for Sewak and its members are under the direction of the Guru Sahib Ji.
As such, Sewak tries to inculcate the Guru's concept of Naam Japo, Kirt Karo and Vand Chako among the masses. Seva and Simran are the hallmark of its members.
― The Living Guru is the guiding force of Sewak and its affiliations.
SEWAK depicts a tree at the center — chosen because it represents a life of selfless giving. The tree gives its roots, its stem, bark, leaves, fruit, flowers and its wood; it gives itself up fully in selfless service to mankind. Such is the inspiration of the directors of Sewak — offering 'Service for All', no strings attached, across the globe as depicted in the background of the logo.
In doing so, the directors remain grounded like the roots of the tree. No matter how high the tree (organization) grows, it remains rooted deep under the earth that nurtures all life. The tree is as much above as it is beneath the ground — stable and balanced. It is what it is. No hidden agenda.
And the tree is guided by the red circle with the glow at its center — the guiding force of all life on earth. The directors remember that it is all because of 'IT', and nothing of their own doing. This keeps them grounded in service even as Sewak's operations expand world-wide.
Five Sewaks — four in Ottawa, one in Noida — who chose to organise themselves around service. Different professions, one shared commitment.
